这句流行语来自一部迷你剧《万万没想到》。其中一集讲到唐僧把孙悟空从五指山下救出来，去西天取经的桥段，导演“叫兽易小星”在剧中扮演唐僧，有一句挂在嘴边的口头禅“我还是想安静地当一个美男子”。为何要安静，因为自己很闹挺，是个2B，为什么做美男子，因为自己是个丑B，因此这句话常常被长得丑的又很2的男生用来自我调侃。

网络用语"So the question is…" is derived from the advertising of Lanxiang Vocational school. “那么问题来了”，最早就是来源于蓝翔高级技工学校的广告。2014年10月，网易评论区的会员张乐，刻意在一个新闻跟帖发表留言，这些留言大多是一个很长的故事，但是在故事的结尾都会来上一句，那么问题来了，挖掘机技术到底哪家强？而后跟帖的截图被发布到微博和朋友圈之后，得到了广泛的转载，让蓝翔广告又火了一把。

还有源自电视剧《杉杉来了》的“承包鱼塘体”。在剧中，腹黑总裁张翰怀抱赵丽颖，说出的一句台词：“我要让全世界知道，这个鱼塘被你承包了”。“也是蛮拼的”本是一句很简单的口头语，在《爸爸去哪儿2》中被曹格多次提及，使其发扬光大，在网络上被大家所熟知并广泛传播。而且，十大流行语怎能不提“No zuo no dIE”？
